“On December 30, 2005, COAH dismissed Milltown's petition on the grounds
that Milltown had failed to submit a resolution from its governing body
by February 20, 2005 committing to petition for third round substantive
certification from COAH by December 20, 2005. The Borough is therefore
susceptible to a builder's remedy lawsuit because it failed to maintain
its status before COAH and to resolve issues concerning its fair share
of the regional need for affordable housing.”

I’m now a senior on a fixed income. You name it, I’ve been

Decisions, Decisions, Decions
On November 8th, you the
Milltown residents and taxpayers are asked to make a
decision on who will lead this town into the future.
Evaluate the decisions your past Democratic led councils and
the current Democratic candidates made during their previous
tenures on council.
Decision #1
– On December 30th,1998 during a special “Lame Duck”
meeting, current Mayoral candidate Eric Steeber and his
Democratic led council voted 4-0-1 to grant the Arisa
Development Company a 30 year tax abatement for the East
Mill Plaza shopping center (Acme and Staples Shopping
Center). This abatement will cost the residents of
Milltown $13,000,000 in lost tax revenue until the abatement
expires in 2030
Decision # 2
– Mayoral candidate Eric Steeber and Council candidate Randy
Farkas have gambled and lost with your electric rates while
they were on council. Both, as finance chairs, authorized
separate fixed rate contracts for wholesale electric at the
height of commodity prices when other towns decided to
purchase through managed contracts. These two
decisions cost Milltown utility customers a combined
$6,000,000
Decision #3
– In 2005, the Democratic led council decided not to act on
an application to continue Milltown’s low income housing
requirement of 16 units as agreed to by COAH in 2003.
According to Judge Hurley’s recent decision, all Eric
Steeber and the Democratic led council had to do was pass a
simple resolution. This lack of foresight and
leadership resulted in a $ 1,000,000 (and counting)
builder’s remedy lawsuit and an increase of Milltown’s
required low income housing from 16 units to 70 units
The Cost of
Democratic Leadership in Milltown
$20,000,000 in Democratic Decisions

The Mayor and Council Members are asked
to make hundreds of decisions during their term. These
Democratic candidates cost you $20,000,000 with only three
decisions. The average homeowner lost $ 7,200 on these
decisions alone.

The Truth About Milltown’s Electric Rates
What Their Poor "Negotiation" & Decision Making" is Costing
YOU
If you aren’t ready to pay for someone else’s
misguided decisions —
Vote
Responsibly, Vote Republican.

Is the Milltown Democratic Party
Confused?
In 2010 The Milltown
Democratic Organization printed a disparaging campaign flyer
stating:
“Farkas was responsible for the fiscal mismanagement of the
Borough and the unprecedented tax and utility increases over
the prior three years.” — NOW RANDY FARKAS IS THEIR
CANDIDATE
As a Milltown
Republican serving in 2007 Randy Farkas was quoted in a
campaign flyer:
“I have seen such things as the Democrats raiding the
‘electrical utility surplus.’ This surplus is in place to
protect our aging infrastructure. They did this so they
could have lawn signs that say ‘no tax increase in 2007,’
while letting our electrical rates nearly double. This was
all for political gain.” — NOW HE ASKS YOU TO HELP SUPPORT
HIM AS A DEMOCRAT
As an Independent in
2010 Randy Farkas in a campaign flyer stated:
“In Milltown … the main interest of the two major parties
has been to keep themselves in office … Prior to expiration
of my second year (on Council) I decided that I MUST become
an INDEPENDENT.” — ONE YEAR LATER, IN THE VERY NEXT
ELECTION, HE IS RUNNING AS A MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
WHAT WILL THEY SAY NEXT
TO GET ELECTED IN 2011?
Ron Dixon, Stacey
Waters and Jules Dekovics WILL:
1. Work in a bi-partisan way to determine the best solution
for our electric utility. This issue is too important to the
future of Milltown to play “Politics as Usual”
2. Work towards resolution of the ongoing floodwater
management issues Ensure the protection of our electric
substation and the center of town
3. Improve our vital infrastructure and plan for its future
Establish maintenance schedules and backup plans to reduce
failures which require costly emergency expenditures

Elect Ron
Dixon for Mayor
Jules Dekovics and Stacey Waters for Borough Council
Ron, Jules and Stacey will continue the progress:
Resolve the future of the electric
utility - Relocate / Sell
•
Repair the unusable flood gates
•
Work with Lawrence Brook Watershed and towns along the
waterway to find solutions
Immediate action on Office of
Emergency Management (OEM) program for Milltown
•
Review and update OEM program that meets the needs of our
town TODAY
•
Create safe
and equipped emergency shelters outside the flood plain
•
Create a communication plan which incorporates 21st century
technology (Facebook, Twitter)
Continue shared services and seek
out additional options that will continue saving residents
tax dollars
Prepare for infrastructure needs today, tomorrow and the
future to avoid any further catastrophic situations
